Conclusion

As you can see, the process of designing a J2ME game isn't all that difficult. Even though you might consider it a pain, going through an organized design process is a necessary step along the road from idea to finished product.

No matter what you come up with, though, what you've designed is not a great game. A great game comes after you've developed your idea fully. It comes from all those little extras you add inthe homing missiles, the ten different enemy types, the extra-slick graphics, and all that endless tweaking to balance game play. I fully expect this polishing phase to take nearly as long as the original development time, so try to allocate tons of extra time in your schedule for tweaking your end product. It will make all the difference.

Now that you've done the design, let's bring Star Assault to life.
