Ray Casting
It might sound a little ambitious, but in this chapter you'll look at how to build a 3D engine for your average MID. It won't be anything like the modern PC 3D games, but it will certainly create a great 3D world effect you can use in many different game types.
To do this you'll use a simple technique known as ray casting, which thankfully doesn't require particularly complex algorithms or math. In fact, I think you'll be pretty surprised by how easy 3D can be.
